A Letter To Our Readers:
Hi Friends! Volume 3 came up so quickly, I can't believe we are already (and actually) here.
Saskatchewan Summers are in full force! Over the last month there has been so much going on that I am truly shocked we stuck to our middle of the month schedule. Saskatoon Pride and the TD Sask Jazz Festival were so insanely fun, but also widely hectic. I was able to fill my days photographing so much local talent, belly laughing with friends, and even singing my heart out to July by Noah Cyrus (in July!!!!) * a note to this, I promise I will post the Noah photos as soon as I am contractually able to do so.
But... on the note of spending time with friends....
I want to set the mood. We're going to practice a light visualization exercise.
I want you to picture yourself  running through a dark forest in the middle of the night. You're lost amongst branches and the glowing eyes of creatures you can't identify. You're tired, and panicked that you will never see the light of day. But in the horizon you can see a break in the bush. A glowing golden light is piercing the silhouettes of the dead wood forest.
You run through the sticks and leaves, the rays of light meeting your body. You're now standing in a meadow. Warm, calm. At your feet, there is an assortment of wild flowers sprinkled through the field of green grass . After being out of breath for so long you can finally feel safe.
This is exactly how I feel about our next guest of honour.
Dillon 'kansereeuhn' Chernowsky is a friend I hold dear to me and the person I wanted to showcase on my July cover (especially because it's their birthday today).
Dillon has a way with Fashion like no other. I have never seen someone curate the most interesting outfits on a consistent basis. Truly there is 'never a miss'.
I think Dillon's ability to be uniquely themselves in a province where the majority of people are trying to be the same as everyone else is one of the greatest joys and pleasures to watch.
So, with that.. please enjoy the third edition of AND? magazine (hooker on the prairie edition).

I'M INSPIRED  BY EVERYTHING THAT ORBITS ME.

Q: Babes! You are such a style icon, who and what gives you fashion inspiration?
A:   When I was younger I definitely pulled all of my inspiration from celebrities and magazines. I was constantly on Polyvore and Pinterest creating looks for myself and others. I was much more of a follower when it came to style growing up but as I've aged and connected with new ways of life, communities, art, and sounds I have definitely become more intune with my internal drum. Im inspired by everything that orbits me. I love a theme for events, my friend circles also inspire me a lot! Stage costumes as well, trends of course, unique color pallettes, specific items I buy, and music; music is a BIG inspiration for most of my looks. I love envisioning what would be worn in a music video or on stage, at red carpets.
Q: Is there anything you ever regret wearing, and is there anything you are dying to wear that maybe you haven't gotten the chance to yet?
A:  Off the top of my head. Skinny jeans but also that was such a sign of the times so I think I would change my answer to wearing pajamas to high school as often as I did growing up. Other than that I have been rather unapologetic about exploring different genres of fashion at different stages in my life. As for something I am dying to wear-Oh, god, I think im dying to wear everything I havent purchased yet?? I dont know, I am such a hoarder when it comes to clothing but I do have these black Julian Hakes Mojito Heels that I secured from Juniper and Oak which I have been saving for the right fit because theyre major and I just want to give them the moment they deserve!
Q: What would you like to see more of (fashion wise) on the prairies!
A:  The only thing I want to see more of in the Prairies in terms of fashion is just more people being brave enough step out of their comfort zones and try new things. Especially when it comes to mens fashion. We are so behind on the times and trends here. I see it every day in retail and at events. People blend in, people shy away from products they love because other people tell them it's ugly, "too much", or they simply think they have nowhere to wear the item. I know we have so many hidden style icons in our communities that deserve to be seen and acknowledged. Lugo is a key event that clearly proves that we have fashion baddies here and I just want to see that more regularly at other events and in every day life.
Q: What is your biggest fashion "red flag"
A:  My biggest fashion redflag isnt so much a trend or item but people who yuck someone's yum. Just because it isnt for you doesnt mean that it isnt for them. There are tons of trends and concepts that I dont find flattering but then I see someone with the right vibe and approach rock the style and it leaves me breathless. I love seeing people pull off something that I cant or dont want to. Fashion is art! Thats what it's supposed to do; challenge you and change the way you interpret things.
Q: Lastly, is there anything you'd like to say to your friends, fans, and maybe the haters <3
A:  To my friends: I love you all. Nothing keeps me more inspired and confident than all of you.
To my fans: I hope I can keep inspiring and influencing you to be yourself, try new things, and be confident in both your personal identity and style identity.
To my haters: I thank you,  for when my name leaves your mouth I only become healthier, happier, sexier, and richer. Any energy you send towards me and any venom you speak about me is transmuted into my power and prosperity. ♡
